Bottega Wine Studio
Bottega Wine Studio is a boutique winery in Cawston unlike any other stop on the Sip the Similkameen trail — a creative, artist-driven operation where the wines are displayed as wall art and every pour reflects the vision of one dedicated winemaker working at the intersection of passion, craft, and Similkameen terroir.
Winemaker Daniel Bontorin and his partner Kristine have built a sustainably farmed operation just off the beaten path in Cawston, the Organic Farming Capital of Canada, surrounded by rolling countryside, orchards, fruit stands, and fellow artisan producers. Daniel specialises in rosé and small-lot wines, selecting grapes from across the Okanagan that he feels display the highest potential for expressing great wine — then crafting them with purity and intention in his studio on Beecroft Avenue.
The winery produces wines under three distinct labels. Seven Directions Wine is exclusively rosé — the portfolio supported and grown by just over 3.5 acres of estate-planted Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Grenache at the Solum Rosa Estate Vineyard. Bottega Wines covers premium red and white wines, including a standout Cabernet Franc. K Little Vintners offers fresh, approachable red and white blends, including a Gewürztraminer-led white that has earned its own following.
A tasting here is intimate, personal, and grounded — the kind of stop along the Sip the Similkameen where the winemaker is often the one pouring, and the conversation is as memorable as what’s in the glass.
