Sharpe Distillery

Sharpe Distillery is the only dedicated craft distillery on the Sip the Similkameen trail, and its roots run as deep in Cawston as the Similkameen River that runs through the valley.
Launched in 2023 by Tracy Sharpe, Amy Jo Sharpe, and CEJ Mussell, the distillery is a tribute to Grandpa Jack Sharpe — a larger-than-life character whose family history in Cawston stretches back three generations and whose legacy in the local community runs long and wide.
The spirits are made using tried-and-true craft methods with an eye for innovation, using water drawn directly from the Similkameen River and the best of what grows in the distillery’s own backyard. The range covers considerable ground: unaged and cask-strength rye whisky, botanical gin, pisqu, wheat vodka, old world vodka, espelette pepper vodka, and vanilla vodka — something genuine for every palate.
The flagship release is the Cask Strength Whisky — a single barrel, three-year aged whisky at 110.2 proof, with a mash bill of 51% rye, 27% wheat, and 22% corn. Bold spice and rich caramel open, followed by toasted almond, a hint of floral gardenia, and a whisp of smoke. The finish is warm, peppery, and refined — described on release as familiar as a well-worn saddle. Available in limited quantities at the tasting room and online while supplies last.
The tasting room on Beecroft River Road is relaxed, welcoming, and family in spirit — a fitting place to pull off the Sip the Similkameen trail and raise a glass to a family that has been part of this valley for generations.
