Okanagan-Similkameen Community Acupuncture
We offer private and low-cost community acupuncture, tui na and cupping, and other Traditional East Asian Medicine treatments by appointment.
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an ancient practice supported by modern medicine. It consists of using thin, sterile needles to stimulate points that engage the body’s own healing mechanisms. Acupuncture is used to relieve pain, promote healing after injury or surgery, address digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, and reproductive health, support weight loss, smoking cessation and addictions treatment, enhance immunity and support overall health. We also offer cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, tui an massage, and herbal or nutritional support. Acupuncture and TCM can be used as a standalone therapy or alongside other forms of care.
Is it covered?
Acupuncture is covered by most insurance plans, ICBC, WCB, Veterans Affairs, and by MSP for low income and status First Nations residents of BC. We offer direct billing to MSP and most major insurers. Or you may pay and submit your receipt to your provider for reimbursement. Acupuncture is also an eligible medical expense you can claim on your Canada tax return
