Manning Park Dark Sky – Astronomy Weekend

Bring your curiosity about the cosmos to Manning Park’s second annual astronomy weekend, featuring workshops, speakers and star-gazing. This event will feature two unique weekends of programming with our star experts who will guide you on a tour of the night skies in the pristine alpine environment of Manning Park.

Wings on the Wind Kite Festival

Kite decoration/building workshop and barbecue at Lightning Lake Day Use Area. Take your kite for a test drive afterwards on the afternoon wind at Lightning Lake!

BBQ from 11am-2pm.

$10/kite kit.

Fat Dog 120 Trail Race

Seriously scenic and challenging international trail race between Keremeos and Manning Park. Distances include 120 mile, 70 mile, 50 mile, 40 mile and relay. Run though three beautiful Provincial Parks on mainly single track trail. The 120 mile and relay begin on Friday, Aug 10, 2019 near Keremeos. The 70, 50 and 40 mile begin on Saturday, Aug 10, 2019 in Manning Park. There are nine relay distances from 7-38 km.

Just short of Everest for elevation gain; Fat Dog 120 mile is 8682 metres, Everest is 8848 metres.

Lights on Lightning Lake Lantern Festival

Lantern building workshop at Lightning Lake Day Use Area. Build your own floating lantern to launch it on Lightning Lake that evening!
Barbecue from 11-2pm. Lantern launch at Spruce Bay Beach at 9:30pm.

This incredible #ManningParkDarkSky event is a highlight of the summer and is not to be missed!

Parks Day Celebrations

Join us to celebrate our beautiful parks with community partner booths, barbecue, crafts, facepainting and more! Family-friendly guided hike and the Great Parks’ Day Quiz Show at the amphitheatre that evening.

Canada Day Celebrations

Celebrate Canada’s birthday with this special event at Lightning Lake Day Use Area.  Barbecue, kid’s crafts, face painting, Canadian music, community partners, and historical entertainers.  Free Canada Day cupcakes!
